Its been e.i.g.h.t. months.
That's a long t i m e. I need to say sorry to myself.

Life has changed in the past e i g h t months. My life is still a roller-coaster. My hands are in the air and i'm just going with the wind.

I'm going to school full time. Yes: I am a full time student. Its WONDERFUL. I love waking up and getting ready in the morning ( besides deciding what to wear) and going to class.

I LOVE LEARNING 

its the best feeling in the world... knowing that I am making a difference in my own life and I will be forever grateful for the experiences I am experiencing.

im in love.

I think I found what I LOVE to do. I am in love with making cakes. Yes, I realize I'm not the best. But, I can become the best. It's like a blank canvas for me. I start from nothing.. seriously nothing at all. and at the end I get to see the master piece that took me somewhere from an hour to about 6 hours. Here are just a couple of cakes I have done within the past year. I really want to start doing this out of my own place. I think I could. Well I know I could. I just need a huge freezer,  a huge oven, and a brand new kitchen aid... haha just kidding.. but really!

tears in the eyes.

Last night I was trying to read a recipe (I made some very delish enchiladas)  (hotwiffypoints) and I was focusing way to much to look at that normal size paper. For the Past two weeks I have been struggling with seeing.... But I didn't want to face it. I don't always like wearing my glasses, but I know to function like a normal human and see the beauty of this earth I need to suck it up and just wear them. I may have had tears running down my face as I was driving to get the ingredients for dinner but its hard being 23 years young and having worse eyes than your great grandma. So today friends I am grateful for my cute, trendy, large looking ray bans that I rock everyday. here's to good eyes and an even better lovers day.

have you ever felt like your brain was full of bees? I honestly feel like my brain is a beehive.
I wish it would slow down so I can catch up with life and get my thoughts and feelings in order.

- some may ask.. well why is this cara?  & you know what I have to say? its a big secret. :)

don't you all love secrets? hah. nah. its really not but I cant truly answer that. I think that's what im trying to figure out right now.

SUPRISE, SUPRISE- school is rough. its hard. its time consuming, its long hours on the computer and honestly im feeling smarter and smarter when I shut my computer and put my homework down for the night.

                                     ISNT THAT THE BEST FEELING IN THE WORLD?

                                        I don't even have to have my glasses on to have this feeling anymore!

                   WOOOOAHHHHHHH. BOOOYAHHHHH PEOPLE.

Lock the door.

I have this one roommate who:

never locks the door as she leaves the house
never FULLY cleans the dishes ( seriously, she puts water on it and spins the water in the cup and waaaabammm. its clean) DRIVES ME NUTS.
never buys anything for the kitchen
never takes out the trash
never picks up after herself
and last but certainly not least.
always unplugs the lamp.

I want to say something, and I did about locking the door. I mean how hard is it to push the lock button... she doesn't even have to put a key in!

All I can say is she is in for a surprise when she is married and no one is there is pick up after her.

I feel like I am a mom. I now know how all moms must feel when the kids come in with snowy shoes and drags in the salt and leaves puddles of water in the kitchen, Or when the kids leave empty spice containers in the cupboard, never turns the lights off before going to bed, and more that I cant even begin to think about.

Life is great if this is the only thing I can complain about right?

on the bright side. tomorrow is day: Saturday 11 year: 2014 and guess what the means..
I Cara Andre'e Smith do not have to go into work tomorrow. I believe this is the first Saturday in about 6 months that I have not worked. I am so stoked!

New Year, New Me.

Its almost a New Year. OH how grateful I am to see the year switch from 2013 to 2014. I believe that 2014 will be my year. Everything good is going to happen to me. To be honest, I have no idea what is in store for me but you know when you just have a good feeling about something? Yes, I am having that feeling right now.

I have decided that I want to share my thoughts, trials, laughter, tears and such with you. (whoever you are) I might make you laugh, I might make you cry, You may disagree with what I have to say, But this New Year I have an opinion I will learn to speak my mind. I will do hard things.

everything happens for a reason.

I feel like blogging lets my mind be free and I can express my thoughts a lot better then expressing it in other ways. 

The past month I have had a lot of time to think about the past and by the past I really mean the past year. Its been a roller coaster, one where you scream the entire time. You know what I am talking about! 

July has been a refreshing month for me. I have been praying to find the right answers as to why I made some of the  decisions I made. During this time I felt like I was lost and no one understood where I was coming from. I felt like I was by myself. I don't think I really truly understood how prayer worked until now. Answers don't come right away, and sometimes that's the hardest thing. One thing I have learned is that no one is ever alone, answers do come, It may be months from when you were really expecting but they come when you are ready. My answer was always right in my face, I heard it daily from people who loved me and only wanted the best for me and my future, But I had to find it by myself and I did. 

People always say. everything happens for a reason. To be honest I use to hate hearing that. But, it is so true. Things happen and from that you learn and grow.

I have to say how grateful I am for such a loving and caring family. Hold close to those around you that love you and ONLY want the best for you. I am one lucky lady.

I love Summer for reasons other then its sunny outside and I usually get a real nice golden tan.

I love everything about summer time.

Snowbird.

The other Sunday I was driving up to alpine to go and have dinner with my wonderful mother, I decided to stop at my grandparents house just to say hi! I pulled up and they were packing their van to go up to snowbird.
I decided to get work off and go up and spend the night with them. I even convinced cannon to come with me :) He seriously is the coolest little boy ever.. we talked and talked and talked and sang some songs all the way to snowbird. We had a blast sledding and swimming with grandma & grandpa!

Thanks guys!! We are so lucky to have such amazing grandparents & great-grandparents!

White Willow

Life is a little crazy.. i guess you could say!

Some may even say that I Cara Andree Smith am a little crazy. Why you might ask?! Well I thought it would be a good idea to get another job! So, I did! I love it more then anything.. I would drop what I am doing to go in and bake some cakes or go help set up for a wedding. I LOVE MY JOB. Well that one at least. I have two other jobs.. and they are just fine. There is just something about being on my feet doing something different every minute: meeting new people, getting wedding ideas, telling myself I will never be that type of bride, taste testing the food, baking the cakes, decorating the cakes, planting flowers, washing dishes, making punch, smiling at people as they come in, making someones dream day come true! I Seriously do have the worlds best job.

Here is my first cake I got to make for a desert bar! fun right?!

the middle part isn't my favorite, but at least i know that i will never do that design again :)

The salon

I have a love hate relationship with the salon! I will admit it!! I am sick of cleaning beds all day every day! But you know what is the best....

It's getting to know the regs! This lady named Lana came in last night & brought me her homemade cookies... Can you say the sweetest thing ever?! LOVE THAT LAdy!!

Summa time

Summer summer summer!! I can feel it in the air & I LOVE everything about it!!

Chloe & I seriously took the best bike ride ever... I think I may of lost my voice though.... & we may or may not of made a fool out of ourselves!! Oh well it was a needed day for the both of us!!

I am in LOVE with facetiming.. maybe its because I have family in Arizona (aka the best state ever) and that is the only way to keep in touch with them... but I am so grateful for iphones.. it seems silly to say that but its the truth.

Nothing makes my day better then being able to see a loved ones face of the other side.. yes being face to face would be the ideal situation but its not like that... & that is okay!

I have been thinking a lot about how lucky I have been in my life with good friends and a wonderful family. I really do have the best of the best.

I am not sure how I got so lucky to have the best nephews & nieces ever.. but I get to live next to 2 of them.. let me tell you.... they bring the biggest smile to my face, I am sure once I over load you with pictures of them you will have a slight smile on your face as well! There is nothing better I would rather be doing then getting the chance to hangout with these babes!

If I were to guess what heaven was going to be like....

I would think it would be a mixture of sun & that crazy thing that falls down from the sky that is white & sometimes fluffy!

(side note) my parents live up in Alpine and my dad travels A LOT. He was home for the weekend so  my parents decided to go skiing and dragged me and my snowboard along.

As I was sitting on the chair lift I kept telling my parents how beautiful everything was. I think sometimes in life we all get so busy and we don't take a minute out of our busy day to stop and smell the flowers.

sunday, funday.

okay, okay! not really {funday}. but today was awesome.

Went to church. & yes I gave a lesson today.. don't ask me what it was about though because I already forgot. ha! just playin. It went really well. 

I love being in college & having my parents only 25 minutes away. it is seriously the best ever. lets be real my parents are pretty rad. the things that come out of Cathy's mouth are priceless.

have you ever played the game Ticket to Ride? my oh my. you need to go buy it. It makes you think & it is a super long game, 

                                   BUT it is so so so fun.

As you can see, we even watched the grammys. It was pretty alright. I just like watching what everyone wears. I wasn't too impressed with anyone's outfits though. A little disappointing.

Today Today, Today. I believe it is a big sweater and leggings kind of a day. don't ya think? maybe with some cute boot socks and some brown boots? um yes please. throw my hair in a messy bun and throw on my bebe glasses. I might even throw on  my black & gold bubble neckless that I bought from the best website ever... veryjane  check it out. I can promise you that you will fall in LOVE with it. best deals around.

We had cleaning checks today. my [favorite] day of the month. seriously though. so thank you branbury.
Its not that bad of a place to live. I kinda want to keep my eyes out though and see if I can find something cheaper. we will see though.

off to the gym I go.
